How to plan custom Roman shade costs

Compare specific flat cordless Roman shade examples and estimate your measurements using the same pricing service as our product pages. Tax, shipping and installation are separate.

Step 1

Choose the mount before measuring

For an inside mount, enter the exact window opening measurements. Do not subtract a clearance allowance yourself. Record the width at the top, middle and bottom and the height at the left, center and right; check the narrowest width and longest height.

For an outside mount, enter the finished coverage width and drop, including the overlap you have chosen. The configuration does not add overlap. Check recess depth, handles and the space for the raised shade with the studio if the fit is uncertain.

Record all six readings. Mark the narrowest width and longest height. Do not make your own deductions.

Step 2

Understand what the estimate includes

Our offered Roman is a flat shade with cordless control and its own headrail. The pricing service includes the cordless-control component in the total; it is not an extra charge to add to the displayed estimate. K-Rail and Architrac are separate curtain tracks, not Roman shade headrails.

Your measured width, drop and lining choice determine the estimate under the current pricing rules. Choose unlined, privacy lining or blackout lining. Privacy and blackout lining use the same pricing rules; the lining label does not guarantee the light control of the complete installation.

Step 3

Plan each window separately

The online Roman configuration accepts width and drop from 12 to 120 inches, in eighth-inch increments. One quantity means one shade. Increase quantity only for identical dimensions, fabric, lining and mount; measure different windows separately.

Tax and shipping are confirmed at checkout. You arrange installation and measurement. Review any fitting uncertainty with the studio before ordering; this guide does not specify manufacturing deductions or a minimum recess depth.

Step 4

Confirm the fabric and current price

Request free physical fabric samples to compare color and texture in your own light. A sample request needs your US mailing information; saving a shortlist alone does not send it and no sample dispatch date is promised.

The worked examples below describe one specific shade size, not a starting price for every window. Use the planner for your measurements, then confirm your mount, dimensions, lining and current price on the product page before checkout.

A specific shade, measured

Each example is one unlined or privacy-lined flat cordless Roman shade, 36 inches wide × 60 inches high, inside mount, using exact opening measurements. These examples exclude tax, shipping and customer-arranged installation; they are not minimum prices for every window.

Each total includes $300.00 for cordless control. Do not add it again. Privacy and blackout lining use the same pricing rules. Confirm the current configuration and price before checkout.

Estimate your Roman shade

One quantity means one flat cordless shade. Inside mount uses exact opening measurements without your own clearance deductions. Outside mount uses finished coverage, including your chosen overlap. The planner does not add overlap or a fitting allowance.

Flat style and cordless control are included. Check recess depth and obstructions before ordering. Tax, shipping and installation are separate.
