Drapery. Roman shades. The finishing details.A home, in its own time.

How the hardware works

A track supports the curtain. Carriers move inside it. Small hooks connect those carriers to the heading tape, and a baton lets you move the fabric without pulling on it.

Step 1

Choose the profile and mount

K-Rail has a visible round profile. Architrac 94003 is a compact rectangular channel. Both proposed systems are hand / baton draw and can be planned for wall or ceiling mounting with their matching components.

A wall bracket projects the track away from the wall. A ceiling bracket fixes it overhead. Allow the fabric to clear trim and handles; a flush-looking installation is not the same as fabric pressed against the wall. K-Rail ceiling mounting also uses its matching adapter.

Step 2

From track to curtain

Ball-bearing carriers run inside the track. The curtain hooks connect the heading to the carriers, and the proposed Wave Tape heading gives the fabric a regular wave. This is not an exposed-ring rod system.

End stops retain the carriers; endcaps finish the rail. The baton attaches at the leading edge so you can guide the curtain along the track. A single panel draws to one side; a pair draws from the center.

The proposed kit includes a cut track, matching mounting brackets, carriers, endcaps, end stops and a fiberglass baton. Hardware is separate from the fabric. Final carrier quantities, spacing and the panel-pair baton configuration still require sign-off.

Step 3

Install for the actual surface

Before drilling, check for hidden services and establish suitable structural support. Use fasteners appropriate to the wall or ceiling and the complete curtain load; drywall alone is not an assumed fixing solution.

Follow the current Kirsch instructions for the exact track, brackets and mounting surface. Bracket positions and load limits are product-specific. Do not remove supports, improvise splices or substitute brackets to clear an obstruction.

Install the specified brackets and track, fit the carriers and stops in the prescribed sequence, then hang the curtain hooks and attach the baton. Check the finished setup against the supplied installation instructions before use. Arrange a qualified installer if you are unsure of the fixing method.

Step 4

Open, close and care

Guide the baton gently along the track rather than tugging at the hem. Arrange the waves by hand on first hanging. If anything binds, stop and check for an obstruction or misaligned component instead of forcing it.

Keep the track clear of dust using the manufacturer’s cleaning guidance. Do not add an unapproved lubricant or cleaning chemical. Check fittings periodically and stop using a loose track until it is made secure.

Roman shades lift on a separate headrail. These curtain-track instructions do not describe a Roman installation or replace its control and child-safety instructions.
